White
Philip White is a distinguished, multiple BMI Award-winning composer known for his versatile work across film, television, interactive media, and the concert stage. His notable film scores include Tyler Perry’s A Madea Homecoming, The Loud House Movie (which earned him an HMMA nomination for Best Original Score for an Animated Film), Jexi, A Madea Family Funeral, Nobody’s Fool, Boo 2! A Madea Halloween, and Alex & Me. Additionally, he co-arranged the Disneyland fireworks spectacular Wondrous Journeys, celebrating 100 years of Walt Disney animation.
In television, Philip is renowned for scoring The Winchesters and his extensive work on Supernatural throughout its 15-season run. Other major TV credits include Apple TV’s reboot of Fraggle Rock, Lost in Space, Ray Donovan, Bates Motel, Agent Carter, When We Rise, Revolution, and Dallas. His work also extends to interactive media, having composed for video games such as James Bond: Quantum of Solace, Starhawk, Space Miner Wars, and The SIMS 3: Pets Expansion Pack (PHILIP WHITE).
Philip’s music has also found a place on the concert stage. The Los Angeles Master Chorale has performed his compositions and premiered in New York and Los Angeles. Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, Philip began his music journey with classical and Flamenco guitar. He holds dual degrees in Drama and Composition from Tufts University and the New England Conservatory of Music and a graduate degree from the USC Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program. In 2012, he was named a fellow in the Sundance Institute’s Feature Film Composers Lab.
Several notable figures in the music industry have mentored Philip White. He trained under Blake Neely, known for his work on television series such as Arrow and The Flash. Additionally, Philip collaborated with and learned from Christopher Lennertz, a prolific composer recognized for his Supernatural and The Boys scores. These mentors have significantly influenced Philip’s approach to composition and helped shape his successful career.
